Company Overview

Inner City Kitchen is a culinary program targeting the inner city youth, young adults and families of Los Angeles County, California. Inner City Kitchen’s main goal is to alleviate low self-esteem due to food related disorders. Our services provide history of culinary cuisine, nutrition awareness, and agricultural studies; therefore creating the necessary foundation for proper food preparation, which administers a successful and healthy lifestyle. Through this process, those enrolled within this program will begin to discover themselves through food.

Our Mission

Inner City Kitchen aspires to be such an alternative by focusing its efforts towards the inner city food related health issues in Los Angeles County. Inner city youth, young adults and families inhabit environments that make them more susceptible to acquire food related disorders. Most inner city residents are presented with a limited variety of cuisine, which mostly consists of fast food and is the very cause of poor nutritional habits. However creative influences can contribute to the ongoing attempt to save our community by breaking down walls of insecurity providing a window of acceptance and understanding from peers as it is of the utmost importance during a youth’s early years. An innovative program such as Inner City Kitchen, which introduces healthy, living in a compelling way to adolescent populations, is a creative solution that can be utilized as a catalyst for healthy awareness and can be passed on to future generations.
